London indie dream pop act Soundtrack Gospel, the solo project of Jack Gee, has released the new song “Carry On.” Written during a writing retreat, it’s a sign of what’s coming from the songwriter and producer. “The original version was a slower idea with an extended intro,” he says. “All the synth-style sounds were created by running a guitar through a chain of modulation and effects, which was a really fun part of the process. Lyrically, it's very direct and I think the message speaks for itself.” Soundtrack Gospel is in the middle of producing a new EP, which will be out later this year.

After 16 years out of sight, Cologne-based darkwave band The SlimP has released “Nothing to Forget.” The song is a continuation of their atmospheric tones and lush soundscapes. The band notes that getting together was a joyous occasion. "It reminded us," says vocalist Elisa Day, "that music is often more than the sum of its parts." Expect more new music from The SlimP later this summer.

Scottish emo band Palejoy has released their latest single “Next Goal Wins.” Described as “an emo anthem for anyone who has ever felt stuck in first gear,” it’s a relatable story of the inevitable frustrations that come during adulthood. “Turning 30, nothing to show for it. Societal pressure, I'm fu***ng done with this,” sings vocalist Dale Sutherland. At the same time, the song moves us forward, pushing us through the obstacles we feel trapped in.

Collaborating with Thommy Price (Joan Jett, Billy Idol) on their new single “Some Strange”, Austin rock band Trashy Annie muscles their way into the dive bar. It’s a tale “inspired by dirty biker bars, seedy motels, casual hookups, and the brutal honesty of life on the road.” Trashy Annie is led by songwriter and self-taught guitarist Annie Davis, who’s onstage persona is a direct confrontation to the people who have criticized her in the past.

On his second album fuzzer, Michael Sanders intended to make stage-ready music. “In creating this record, I set out to make something that would translate well live,” he says. The 60’s rock inspired songs were crafted to pay tribute to the city of Austin. “I tried to use more restraint than I have in the past. This is my Austin album. Working with friend collaborator Lolo over FaceTime, Australia-based Ruff Hunter explores the impermanence of life on “Punching Darts.” The new song “came from a feeling of disconnection—both from others and from myself,” says Hunter. “It’s about cycles that repeat, moments that blur, and the strange weight of realizing that time with loved ones isn’t endless.” More material from Ruff Hunter is on the way!

Brooklyn/Queens-based punk band 95 Bulls drops their new album 'Canadian Nightclub' on June 20. “Gin Shot,” the first single, “is an unwavering testament to the off-kilter, magnetic, and chaotic world that is Canadian Nightclub.” This is 95 Bulls’ first release since recent line-up changes. Pittsburgh trio The Anti Corn League tackles the matters of the mind on their new song “It Won’t Stop.” The band shares, “The release is inspired by the current chaos our society is experiencing and how it affects our minds.” To add echo to the guitar’s sound, it was recorded in their basement shower. Kingston, NY post-punk band King In Yellow has announced a new EP titled ALL IS LONELINESS. On the first single “Dream Weapon,” the band says, “We worked out a hybrid style of half live tracking mixed with a more modern recording–we wanted to preserve the natural energy of the song.” King In Yellow will embark on a midwest tour in July. Wales alternative project Blindness & Light recently released their second album 'I Dreamt I Had Insomnia.' On “Shards,” they explore the mayhem caused by those who are discontent with their own lives. “People should be happy in their own skin before imposing their self-hate on others,” says songwriter/vocalist Colin M. Potter. The band’s 80s/90s British influences are rich, providing a gloomy and somber backdrop to the song’s theme. The album is available for purchase on CD and vinyl through .
