What do index cards and Instagram have in common?
Not a whole lot actually...BUT! You may have heard that Instagram content is now being indexed by search engines. And unless you work in the digital world, that may sound like a whole other language. So, let me break it down for you.
If you have a professional Instagram (meaning not a personal account) and it is public facing, and you are over 18 years old...your Instagram content can now be found by the likes of Google.
To quote Unicorse from Bluey..."Aaaaaannnd why should I care?" You should care because this can help your business be found with more ease on Google! To maximize this change, be sure to be thoughtful and strategic with your captions. More and more we are seeing SEO and social media blend together. Do not just dump a bunch of keywords (or hashtags) in your posts. Be genuine, authentic, and true to your brand and what you offer.
