The Chiefs have signed Michael Wiley, a former running back from the Commanders. He was picked up by the Commanders last season as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona. During that season, he was on their practice squad. In his college career, he scored a total of 28 touchdowns and had 123 receptions. Wiley is taking the active roster position of safety Deon Bush, who has been placed on injured reserve.

Missouri Tigers linebacker Josiah Trotter has been selected for the Lombardi Award Preseason Watch List, as announced by the award's committee. This honor is presented each year to the top lineman in the country. The winner will be revealed on December 10. Trotter transferred to Missouri from West Virginia in December. He had to redshirt his true freshman year at West Virginia in 2023 due to a knee injury, but he had a standout season last fall. He recorded 93 total tackles, including 37 solo tackles, along with a half-sack and an interception as a redshirt freshman for the Mountaineers. Trotter earned the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year award.

Major League Fishing has revealed the schedule for the 2026 Toyota Series, sponsored by Phoenix Boats, which will feature a stop at the Lake of the Ozarks. The Plains Division event is set for March 10-12 at Public Beach #2 in Osage Beach. As one of the top tournament circuits in the nation, the Toyota Series provides the highest payouts with the lowest entry fees available across the country. This series allows anglers to fish in familiar regional waters for significant prizes and the chance to qualify for the nationally broadcast Toyota Series Championship, taking place from November 5-7 at Pickwick Lake in Counce, Tennessee.

Five golfers from the Lake Area received medals at the Missouri Golf Association’s Senior Series event held at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton. In the 65-69 Open division, BJ Curry from Sunrise Beach tied for first place with two others, all scoring 2-over 74s. The 60-64 Net division saw a four-way tie at the top, with Doug Grooms and Scott Wingert from Camdenton both shooting 3-under 69s. In the 55-59 Open division, Neil Atkinson from Eldon took second place with a score of 15-over 87. In the 75+ Net division, Jan Skola from Camdenton finished third with a score of 4-over 76.

Chiefs safety Deon Bush has been placed on injured reserve due to a torn left Achilles tendon he suffered during the preseason opener against the Cardinals. The injury happened late in the game during a non-contact play when Bush tried to change direction and speed up field. A nine-year NFL veteran, Bush joined the Chiefs in 2022 after spending his first six seasons with the Bears. Drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Bush played in 79 games with the Bears, making 12 starts. Since joining the Chiefs, Bush has been an important role player, helping the team win back-to-back Super Bowl titles in 2022 and 2023. His standout moment came in the 2023 AFC Championship Game, where his interception in the fourth quarter clinched the team’s place in the Super Bowl.
