As we head into the unknown on this Sunday June 26th. This was shared with us today.

Six Little Stories with LOTS of Meanings:

1. Once all the villagers decided to pray for rain. On the day of prayer, all the people gathered but only one boy came with an umbrella. THAT IS FAITH.

2. When you throw babies in the air, they laugh because they know you will catch them. THAT IS TRUST.

3. Every night we go to bed without any assurance of being alive the next morning, but still we set alarms to wake up. THAT IS HOPE.

4. We plan big things for tomorrow in spite of not knowing the future, THAT IS CONFIDENCE.

5. We see the world suffering, but still, we get married and have children, THAT IS LOVE.

6. A old man had a shirt that was written a sentence, "I am NOT 80 years old; I am sweet 16 with 64 years of experience" THAT IS ATTITUDE.

Thoughts and Prayers

PRAYER REQUEST FOR TIM RILEY

Legendary bass singer Tim Riley is currently in the hospital after suffering strokes this week. He was admitted on Monday, after symptoms and signs indicated problems. Today while preparing to be discharged from the hospital, he suffered another stroke. He’s currently in ICU as doctors monitor his condition. He is alert, able to follow commands, and can move his extremities. However, his speech has been affected and communication is difficult.

Danny Riley says, “We appreciate every prayer that is being sent up on dad’s behalf. We are asking God to touch dad with healing and strength and to provide the doctors with wisdom as they plan a course of treatment for the future. We trust the Lord in every situation, and this is no exception. We are leaning on Him and know He already has a plan.”

Any updates on Tim’s condition will be reported on Facebook as soon as possible. The Riley family respectfully requests no calls or texted to Tim or Danny at this time, as everyone is focusing their time and energy on Tim and his continued care.

Your prayers are greatly coveted and appreciated by the members of Gold City and the Riley Family.

You know the 12 Days of Christmas BUT do you really know?

The 12 Days of Christmas is much more than a song that is sung every Christmas season. It goes beyond what most people think of the giving of gifts from your loved one. Here is the meaning behind the song.

The 12 days of Christmas is the period that marks the span between the birth of Christ and the coming of the Magi, the three wise men.

It begins on December 25 (Christmas) and runs through January 6 (the Epiphany, sometimes also called Three Kings’ Day).

The four weeks preceding Christmas are collectively known as Advent, which begins four Sundays before Christmas and ends on December 24.

The partridge in the pear tree, naturally, represents Jesus Christ.

2 Turtle Doves = The Old and New Testaments

3 French Hens = Faith, Hope and Charity, the Theological Virtues

4 Calling Birds = the Four Gospels and/or the Four Evangelists

5 Golden Rings = The first Five Books of the Old Testament, the “Pentateuch,” which gives the history of man’s fall from grace

6 Geese A-laying = the six days of creation

7 Swans A-swimming = the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, the seven sacraments

8 Maids A-milking = the eight beatitudes

9 Ladies Dancing = the nine Fruits of the Holy Spirit

10 Lords A-leaping = the ten commandments

11 Pipers Piping = the eleven faithful apostles

12 Drummers Drumming = the twelve points of doctrine in the Apostle’s creed

and my true love is our Heavenly father God.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family as Michael W. Smith's mother went home today.

What a day it has been. I watched my mom take her final breath as the song All Is Well ended. Exact same thing happened when my dad crossed over in November 2015. A bittersweet day… But so thrilled for my mom. She is extraordinary on so many levels. And what an amazing mom she was to my sister Kimberly and I. And an amazing grand mother, great grandmother… And friend to so many. I will miss her terribly. Grateful to all of you who prayed for me and my family during this time. Love to all.
