Happy summer! Here’s three eponymous B&Bs in three different parts of the 🇺🇸, each with distinct styles apropos of their locations: near Santa Barbara, California, a gorgeous craftsman that shows off an elevated California lifestyle. ’s property brings South Dakota’s waterfalls and natural abundance to their elegant property, and shares the nostalgia for summers throughout the 1950’s to the 70’s at the Jersey Shore. I’d choose the disco room! 💃🕺🪩. All photos belong to the inns, and I am sharing them from their respective social media accounts. Happy summer everyone!

Part 2 of my virtual sojourn to Jackson Hole, Wy. Yesterday I scrolled upon , and fell in love! Their instagram feed is full of stunning sunrises, sunsets and snow! The photos of their guests adventures makes me want to take up fly fishing! The photos of the wildlife and animals they see visiting the creek behind their house is truly spectacular! I would have loved seeing more guest room photos, but pastries, great breakfasts and baby moose and bears will make do! 😉 The innkeepers seem like people with a good sense of humor and enjoy what they do! This authentic alpine building, the creek that runs past the inn, the ridiculously yummy looking breakfasts all made me fall head over heels for this B&B!

Hi friends! I attended my 35th college reunion this weekend! I truly love my alma mater, and I would do anything for my college roomies. But…here’s 8 bed and breakfasts inns that I will consider for next time instead of staying in a dorm room with dorm mattress and annoying linens. Every one of these inns are less than 15 minutes from my campus. What was I thinking?!? 🤔 🤷🏼‍♀️

When I saw this great article in , I wondered if any other B&Bs would like to suggest any other unwritten rules? I think when people don’t have a great time at a bed and breakfast, it’s because they didn’t do their research to find a good fit, and they didn’t understand the unwritten rules listed above. When I saw the first photo, with the pristine, luxurious Victorian bedrooms, the incongruity of the posting, “we have rooms open for rodeo weekend,” made me stop short: who would allow muddy boots and dirty jeans into those gorgeous rooms?! I had to investigate further!! is the epitome of a uniquely American experience. The limestone mansion was completed in 1886, on a 3,200 acre working ranch with outdoor activities like riding,skeet shooting, hunting, and disc golf! I had to share photos of the property. The night sky is breathtaking; rolling hills are cut through with streams. The interior photos are a tiny glimpse into a how beautifully the buildings are restored. All photos are from their social media accounts: black backgrounds is from Instagram and white background is from their Facebook account.

Presenting , all photos are from their Instagram account. I love the story of this family! They moved their family from California and bought an old house and turned it into an inn in Bristol, Vt. I am an instant sucker for an authentic New England Greek Revival home. But this has a more bohemian vibe with happy, jaunty artwork, beds tucked under eaves, clever bunk beds perfect for traveling with kids. There’s a restaurant with a pizza oven, a creek to explore and more. If you ever get to Bristol, it would be so much more interesting and fun to stay with them. But I am confused about one thing: breakfast. Is there breakfast there? If you go, please let me know!

I am looking forward to getting back to posting twice or thrice a week about American bed and breakfast inns! I can’t wait to scout out all styles of architecture, interior design, regional culture, cuisine and fun! And, of course, celebrate those intrepid souls who are called to be innkeepers, their stories and some entertaining and hosting pointers!
