At 505 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Cowden, or near Shelbyville, moving southeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

Scattered large to very large hail and severe gusts are possible across the northern/central Great Plains during the late afternoon and evening. Scattered damaging winds are possible across parts of the Midwest and the Lower Mid-Atlantic States through this afternoon. A low-probability tornado potential is also evident in the Midwest and parts of the Great Plains.
