The Standard Newspaper The Standard newspaper is Mohave County's only family owned newspaper since 1990! We are known for our "Gotta Read" news and printing what the others won't.

The Standard newspaper prints non-biased news from all over the county, including Kingman, Bullhead City, Lake Havasu City, Laughlin, NV and all the surrounding areas. We are a once weekly newspaper that hits stands every Wednesday. Opinions and news story tips are always welcome.

Our Story

The Standard newspaper publishes non-biased news, thoughtful opinions and community happenings throughout Mohave County, Arizona. The Standard has a weekly circulation of 10,000 copies each Wednesday.

The Standard was founded in 1990 by the father-and-son team, Don and Matt Wanner. The Standard incorporated in 2003 under the name Mohave County Newspapers, Inc and was named the ‘Official Newspaper of Mohave County’ by the Arizona Newspaper Association. The Standard is the only locally owned and operated newspaper in Mohave County.

In 2011 Mohave County Newspapers answered their readers wishes by adding a supplement news-tab designed for those age 55+, appropriately named Senior Living. In 2012 Mohave County Newspapers accommodated their readers again by adding a digital version of The Standard which receives over 200,000 monthly users.

In 2017 Everything Kingman-the app! was developed allowing locals and tourists to access local events, discounts, things to do, and news powered by The Standard. Everything Bullhead and Everything Lake Havasu coming soon.
