Unfortunately, we have some disappointing news to share. Ruby did not end up having puppies.
As many of you know, Ruby was due on Friday, and we had previously confirmed her pregnancy via ultrasound. We clearly saw what we believed were puppies, so this was completely unexpected for us.
After discussing everything with our vet, the most likely explanation is that Ruby absorbed her pregnancy. While this is something that can happen, it is actually a first for us.
Breeding can be humbling sometimes. We’ve had females not take due to male fertility issues last year but we’re successfully bred this year, & more recently we had River who never conceived at all, and now Ruby, who appears to have absorbed her pregnancy. Even after years of doing this, there are still things that happen that are completely out of our control.
The good news is that Ruby is healthy, happy, and doing great. ❤️
✨ Ruby is NOT FOR SALE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, she is beyond happy right where she is, at home with us!!✨
And honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better addition to our pack. Since Ruby joined our family, she has been the absolute perfect dog. She fit in flawlessly with every single one of our dogs from day one and has the sweetest, most easygoing temperament. She truly feels like she has always belonged here, and we are so thankful she found her way to us. We are even more excited to see what the future holds for her.
As of now, the plan is to breed both Ruby and Dahlia in October, which would hopefully give us December puppies. We will not have any puppies available after our current litters leave, Until our next expected litter with Stitch × Steve-O, with Stitch expected to come into season around August, putting puppies due around October. 🎃
While this wasn’t the outcome we were hoping for, we truly believe everything happens for a reason. Thank you all for your support, patience, and for loving our dogs as much as we do. 🐾❤️
