We did the photography for this Stewards of Route 66 Oral History series last year. The restaurants were my favorites because they usually insisted that I eat before I leave. Sam set me up with a couple of Maid Rites, some fries and his home made root beer - good food from a great guy!

Check out this interactive tour of HSSF’s Heritage Museum that we had the privilege of creating with them! If you get a chance, you should see it in person. The museum and the St. Francis of Assisi church above it are two of Springfield best kept secrets.

Today we celebrate The Feast of the Annunciation when the archangel Gabriel announced to the Virgin Mary that she would be the mother of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

We have chosen this Feast to announce the virtual experience of our Heritage Museum in Poverello Hall. Originally designed by PGAV Destinations (St. Louis, MO) and dedicated on February 2, 2011, our museum shares the story of our Community through our charism to be and to bring Christ’s healing presence. Now, through the creativity of Crowdson Creative Video Production (Springfield, IL), we share this experience with the world.

May all who visit this museum be inspired to recognize their opportunity to be a bearer of peace and love each day of their life.
