Historic House Tour - Dec 7th

Hello, and Merry Almost Christmas!
Thank you for joining us for our third annual Historic House Tour.

Steubenville is a special place. Many visitors tell us, “We don’t have houses like this where I live.” They’re right—these historic homes are an important part of the character and spirit of our town. Without them, Steubenville just wouldn’t feel the same. The same families who built our downtown’s iconic buildings also built these homes. We are lucky to enjoy them as part of our town’s heritage.

These homes—Victorian, Colonial, and Second Empire—were built for living, raising families, sharing meals, and everyday life—not for display. That’s why, every year, families generously open their doors to the public. They want to share the beauty, craftsmanship, and hard work that make these houses—and our town—so special.

Many of these historic homes have needed care over the years. Most are still lived in by families who are restoring them, sometimes starting from the very basics. The descriptions in this booklet come from the homeowners themselves. We hope you’ll meet them and be inspired by their projects.
