In honor of The Boy Is Mine tour stopping through Columbia, I had to share some 🔥🔥🔥 from myself & Darius Starks. Whitney & Ryan’s wedding was a whole vibe. We set up and just went with it and whatever I played he jumped in and killed, no planning ahead or anything. You should definitely add a Sax player to your big day! He’s super dope. In the past month, I’ve had several people approach me about learning to DJ or taking it to another level. While I don’t have time for individual lessons outside of events, I want to help. I also need an event assistant to help set up/break down, help capture content, and to provide light support during events if needed. What I’ve decided to do is to kill two birds with one stone. Instead of me hiring someone for that role, I’m hoping to hire an aspiring DJ so you can get first-hand experience, on the job training, and hopefully I can give you events based on your skill level or at the very least, have you open for events until we get you to the point of doing your own. Earn some extra money while you learn. I started by showing up where ever DJ Frosty told me he’d be, even if he didn’t tell me, I’d hear it on the radio and show up to help carry stuff, ask questions, network, and watch. I did this every weekend for free. I’m offering you a way to start how I started, but more hands on and to let you make a little money. If you know someone wanting to learn, send them this. I’ll make a formal graphic or post soon but I just wanted to put it out there. If you’re already a DJ but want to connect and take it to another level and do more events, this could be for you too. I gave one of my DJs 32 events last year so if you’re ready to work, reliable, professional and can rock any event, hit me up. Columbia area preferred but if you’re willing to drive, I’m cool with it, I’m just not paying for travel.

I saw someone ask “why are DJ’s so high?” But to answer that question we have to establish what ‘high’ is. What may be high to one person may be a deal to another. Also, the type of set up, type of event, experience of the DJ, level of professionalism, etc all plays into a DJs cost so you can’t just group all DJs together and say they are high. Some may be priced too high for what they are offering and some may not be high enough. So when you are looking for services like DJ, Photography, Videography, Makeup, etc just state your budget when you are searching or upfront in the conversation to avoid wasting anyone’s time and to not be triggered to attempt to diminish someone’s value because it’s more than you are willing to pay or can afford. It’s okay to find someone in a price range you can afford instead of trying to bring someone down.
