History, September 9th, 1968, After the 18th take of 'Helter Skelter', Ringo Starr flung his drum sticks across the studio and screamed, "I got blisters on my fingers!" They decided to include Starr's shout on the stereo mix of the song.

September 7th 2023: The Rolling Stones announced the details of their new album, “Hackney Diamonds,” in a live-streamed interview with comedian Jimmy Fallon yesterday in London, marking the release of their first new music in 18 years. ...Composed of 12 tracks, the album also marks the band’s first new music since the death of drummer Charlie Watts in 2021, though he plays on two tracks they recorded two years earlier, frontman Mick Jagger said. The band unveiled the album’s lead single, “Angry,” with a music video starring “White Lotus” star Sydney Sweeney, and announced that the full album will be released on October 20. Lady Gaga and Stevie Wonder will guest-star on one of the tracks.

July 18th 1969, The Doors LP, The Soft Parade is released. Most of the album was recorded following a grueling tour during which the band was left with little time to compose new material. The Soft Parade was denounced by both music critics & the band's underground music scene followers, who viewed the album as the Doors' trending into popular music. Over time, historians have reassessed the album and its critical standing has slightly improved, but it is still widely considered the group's weakest effort with Morrison. Jesse McReynolds is also utilized to play mandolin on Runnin' Blue during this time period, along with Reinol Andino on conga, and Jimmy Buchanan on fiddle. The orchestral musicians include Curtis Amy on saxophone, who later takes part in The Doors live performance of Touch Me on The Smother Brothers show in late 1968, George Bohanon on trombone, and Champ Webb on English horn.

July 18th 1970, Pink Floyd play a free concert at London’s Hyde Park that attracts an audience of 20,000. Also on the bill are Third Ear Band, Kevin Ayers And The Whole World, and the Edgar Broughton Band. Their final song was “Atom Heart Mother”.

Jukebox Music History July 13th 1967, Pink Floyd made their second appearance on BBC Top Of The Pops to promote their new single 'See Emily Play' which was hosted by Pete Murray. The single went on to peak at No.6 on the UK chart.

Jerry Miller's admirers include Jimmy Page, Stephen Stills, David Crosby, Taj Mahal, David Fricke, Eric Clapton, and Robert Plant. Moby Grape relocated to San Francisco and, with the addition of Bob Mosley, formed the nucleus of what would become Moby Grape. Moby Grape was formed in San Francisco in 1966. Jerry Miller was the lead guitarist in the three-guitar band. The Grape signed with Columbia and recorded four albums for that label, released between 1967 and 1969. During this period, Miller co-wrote (with Don Stevenson) three of Moby Grape's best known songs, "Hey Grandma" and "8.05", both from the self-titled first Moby Grape album (1967) and "Murder In My Heart for The Judge", from the Wow album (1968). The latter song was covered by both Three Dog Night and Lee Michaels, while Robert Plant covered "8:05" and The Move covered "Hey Grandma".
