Roadblocks during storm chasing usually include: downed trees, power lines, debris, flooded roads… but we encountered a new one last night in North Dakota. “Gotta go Julia, we’ve got COWS!”

Today we went back to Clear Lake/Gary, SD for the first time since we got engaged in front of a tornado last June! We spent some time fishing on the lake and seeing places in sunny, beautiful weather that just a little over a year ago had massive tornadoes. It’s just as special and gorgeous as I remembered. Only 29 days until we finally get to say “I DO!” 💍💒

The remnants of Tropical Storm Edouard are still wreaking havoc on portions of the Texas Pineywoods the day after it made landfall yesterday afternoon on the Louisiana Gulf coast. Some areas have received 20+ inches of rain near the Big Thicket National Preserve. We took these images near Warren TX and near Kountze TX where flash flooding and creek/river flooding are still occurring. Strong wind gusts remained imbedded in the remnants of the tropical system overnight causing localized wind damage in the area leading to numerous power outages in addition to the flooding damage. Police and emergency crews are on scene blocking flooded roadways throughout the area. Rivers and creeks are still rising, folks. If you encounter a flooded roadway, remember: turn around, don’t drown! I always like to remind people with river flooding that even if the rain has subsided, it does NOT mean the danger is over. Stay safe out there, Texas!!
