The Freeride starts on Saturday and goes through Monday with the Tour de Maryhill Race on Sunday. We will have prize money for Mens Standup, Womens Standup, Mens Luge, Womens Luge, and Inline.

The University of Maryhill has been a part of the Fall Freeride for several year's now helping new and intermediate riders learning to ride Maryhill and downhill skate safety in general. Professor Robskey Robin McGuirk of Eastside Longboards has been one of our key instructors with many of his students joining us for the next step in their progression from his Longboarding 101 Classes in Portland. Here's his current class at Mt.Tabor Park.
If you are hesitant to ride Maryhill then our University of Maryhill camp this Fall is the way to go! You will learn many skills from him and our headmaster Joe Lehm of Skate School.

To each his own at Maryhill as long as you ride with a full face and slide gloves ✅ However we do ask you pay a $20 No Leathers Tax when checking in at our Headquarters upon arrival to the hill. This helps out our Medical Crew with costs of First Aid supplies. A lot are used throughout the course of a 3 day event. Thank you much!

These two have been in the mix for several years as well as making it to the Finals.
Maryhill is one of the hardest races to continuously do well at and win! With no sliding required, a lot of riders are able to compete here but both skill and luck determine who will be in front at the finish. This is why we often see a different winner every year.

Just across Highway 14 from Maryhill is the Stonehenge Replica and the site of Sam Hill’s grave. If you’ve never seen it, it’s worth stopping by!
Many of the regular Ratz visit this artifact owned by the Maryhill Museum of Art as well as the nearby Art Museum itself. The location has a great view of the Gorge and the Columbia River. And the road leading downhill from there takes you by the Peach orchards where there are stores and stands to buy delicious fruit.
Sam Hill known as the “Father of Good Roads” was the creator of Maryhill Loops Road and the Stonehenge replica dedicated on July 4, 1918 as a memorial to the people who had died in World War I.

Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes not. Kudos to the fallen riders in both situations for getting out of the way asap to avoid continued carnage. Unfortunately @johnsizzles was taken out from behind by a luger, Doh! Sh*t happens on the hill and that’s the risk we all take. The longer you ride the more likely something like this will happen. Attention University of Maryhill Students! We are always seeking to improve this 3 day camp and can’t wait see and help the graduating class of 2023! Read up here for schedule and info. We highly recommended already being able to foot-brake at 20mph before you arrive ☑️ We are also looking for dedicated coaches who would like to join our crew of instructors. Please contact Headmaster Joe Skate School for more info. 2023 Schedule - 3 Day Camp - Sept.1-3 - Day 1 - Friday 9/1 at 3pm - Student meeting at bottom of the hill / Learn to Slow and Stop - Day 2 - Saturday 9/2 - 9-5pm - Learn to Turn / Group Runs - Day 3 - Sunday 9/3 - 9-5pm - Group Runs / Graduation Day - Day 4 - Monday 9/4 - 9-5pm - You're ready to be on your own with your fellow classmates and the main Freeride group! Recommended Gear and Requirements - - Must be able to Footbrake at 20mph. Practice now to be ready! - Full Face Helmet, longboard, pads, and slide gloves. - Round edge Sliding wheels and Sharp lip Downhill wheels. - Message for questions on any of this. In past classes most of the troubles are not knowing how to footbrake at speed. The Fall Freeride is gonna be Maryhill Madness! Read the schedule below for all the action - 9/1 - Day 1 University of Maryhill students only. 3pm - Riders Meeting 3:30-6pm - Stopping and Sliding. 9/2 Saturday- Day 1 Freeride and Tour de Maryhill practice and timing for all. Day 2 UM. 8:45 Riders meeting 9:00 am to 4:00 pm – Open riding 4:00 pm to whenever we finish – Solo Timed qualifying runs. 9/3 Sunday - Day 2 Freeride / Day 3 UM 9:00 am to 4 pm – Open riding 4:00 pm to finish – Tour de Maryhill Racing 9/4 Monday - Day 3 Freeride 9:00 am to 5:00 pm – Open riding Fall 2022 @ Jon Huey: Photography & Graphic Design
