The Washington Huskies have boasted numerous exceptional running backs throughout the past century. However, Napoleon Kaufman stands out as the most favored.

Kaufman was one of the most dynamic offensive players in the program's history. Despite facing a bowl ban and being a projected first-round pick, Kaufman chose to remain for his senior year, demonstrating his commitment to Coach Lambright and the program.

Kaufman started in a Rose Bowl and nearly returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown as a freshman in another. Throughout his Huskies career, Kaufman accumulated 4,041 yards with 33 touchdowns and an impressive 5.7 yards-per-carry average.

He earned three First-Team All-Pac-10 running back honors, twice received All-American running back recognition, and won the 1994 Pac-10 Player of the Year award. Kaufman was also a member of the 1991 National Championship Huskies team.

The Oakland Raiders drafted him in the first round, and he played for the team from 1995 to 2000 before retiring to establish his own church. With the Raiders, Kaufman rushed for 4,792 yards with 12 touchdowns, caught five touchdowns, and returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

He later led Bishop O'Dowd to a California State championship in 2016. Kaufman served as the Raiders' team chaplain from 2012 to 2020, when the team relocated to Las Vegas.

Currently, he is the senior pastor at The Well Christian Community Church in Livermore, California, where his wife also serves as a pastor, and NFL Hall of Famer Rod Woodson, along with other former teammates, are members of the congregation.

At B1G media day, they showcased each program's most recent major trophy. The Oregon Ducks' trophy will likely have dust on it unless they bring their trophy from beating Liberty.

The Washington Huskies proudly displayed their Sugar Bowl Championship trophy, which took place 19 months ago. The Huskies are one of the rare programs to have won a Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, and Sugar Bowl.

On a late, cold November day in 2013, the Washington Huskies delivered their most substantial road blowout of the Steve Sarkisian era. The Huskies decisively defeated the bowl-bound Oregon State Beavers 69-27 on senior day in Corvallis.

With Keith Price sidelined due to injury, the Huskies gave redshirt freshman quarterback Cyler Miles his first career start. Sarkisian implemented a simplified game plan for Miles, primarily relying on handoffs. The Huskies executed 58 rushing attempts, accumulating a staggering 530 yards with seven touchdowns. Three individual Huskies players rushed for over 140 yards.

The Huskies established an early lead with two Bishop Sankey rushing touchdowns, ending the first quarter up 17-0. They extended their lead to 27-0 at halftime on a Miles 28-yard pass to Kevin Smith.

In the third quarter, Sankey added his third rushing touchdown of the game, followed by a rushing touchdown from Deontae Cooper. Shaq Thompson scored on an 80-yard pick-six, making it 42-0 after three quarters.

Huskies' third running back Dwayne Washington concluded the scoring with a 71-yard rushing touchdown. Sankey led the Huskies with 179 yards on 23 attempts, scoring three touchdowns. Cooper added 166 yards on 11 attempts, scoring two touchdowns, a career-best performance. Dwayne Washington rushed for 141 yards on 11 attempts, scoring two touchdowns.

Miles, in his first career start, completed 15 of 24 passes for 162 yards, throwing one touchdown and rushing for 26 yards. Kevin Smith had three receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown.

The Huskies' defense, which shut out the Beavers for the first three quarters, was led by Marcus Peters, who had two interceptions, a fumble recovery, and a forced fumble. Shaq Thompson scored on the 80-yard pick-six. Cory Littleton, Hau'oli Kikaha, Evan Hudson, and Danny Shelton each recorded sacks.

The Huskies concluded the year with a 9-4 record and a ranking in the final polls, their first since 2001.

Washington Huskies legend Lawyer Milloy is widely regarded as one of the greatest college football safeties of all time.

A Parade Magazine All-American in high school at Lincoln High School in Tacoma, he played for Washington from 1993-1995. Milloy was a two-time First-Team All-Pac-10 safety, an unanimous All-American in 1995, and the recipient of the Jack Tatum Award for the nation's best safety.

Additionally, he started in center field for the UW baseball team, leading the Huskies to the College Regional Finals in 1994.

A second-round draft choice by the New England Patriots, Milloy was a four-time Pro Bowl selection and a two-time All-Pro. He won a Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2001 and finished his NFL career with the Seattle Seahawks, mentoring rookies Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor.

Milloy was also selected to the New England Patriots' 1990s and 2000s All-Decade teams and was recently inducted into the Washington Sports Hall of Fame.

Washington Huskies legendary quarterback Cody Pickett holds numerous passing records at Washington. Pickett ranks top three in every category and is considered one of the toughest quarterbacks to have played for the team.

He was a contributor to the 2001 Rose Bowl victory, completing both passes, and was named to the Pac-10 academic team in 2000 and received honorable mention as a quarterback in 2001.

In 2002, Pickett earned second-team all-conference honors after setting the single-season passing yardage record in conference history. He boasted an impressive 5-0 record as a starter against the Cougars and Ducks, including three matchups against top-10 ranked Cougar teams.

Throughout his career, Pickett threw for 9,916 yards with 53 touchdowns. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers and played in the CFL, and currently coaches high school basketball in his home state of Idaho.

Mason Foster is one of the most accomplished linebackers in Washington Huskies history.

Foster earned all-conference honors three times, including first-team recognition in 2010. He was also named an All-American in 2010 and received defensive MVP accolades in the 19-7 Holiday Bowl victory over the Nebraska CornHuskers.

Foster was selected in the third round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he played for four years, followed by a brief stint with the Chicago Bears and another four-year tenure with the then Washington Redskins.

This poster is one of the most iconic posters I can recall.

It commemorates the Washington Huskies 1990 season, featuring notable players James Clifford, Chico Fraley, Dave Hoffmann, Jamie Fields, and Brett Collins.

Additionally, the legendary Don James, affectionately known as the DawgFather, is prominently featured.

I would venture to guess that this poster was prominently displayed in virtually every weight room throughout the Western side of the state of Washington for years to come.

Washington Huskies legendary corner Desmond Trufant, younger brother of longtime Seattle Seahawk great Marcus Trufant, was an exceptional cornerback for Washington.

Trufant was a four-year starter at Washington and earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors in 2012. Desmond became the first ever Trufant to win an Apple Cup.

Trufant initiated the tradition of Huskies corners being drafted high when he was selected in the first round by the Atlanta Falcons.

He played for the Falcons from 2013-19, making the All-Rookie Team in 2013 and the Pro Bowl in 2015. He enjoyed a 9-year NFL career.

A proud alumnus of Woodrow Wilson High School in Tacoma, Trufant started the recent DBU tradition of Washington.

Washington Huskies and Seattle Seahawks Jermaine Kearse is one of the most clutch Seattle sports athletes in history. Kearse while at UW caught the winning touchdown pass in two wins and also caught three more passes to set up winning scores.

With the Seattle Seahawks he caught a winning touchdown in both NFC Championship games. Kearse also had big moments in both Super Bowl games.

The Lakes high school star went onto to become a 2X All Conference player for the Huskies and a Super Bowl champion for the hometown Seattle Seahawks.
