The LORD is gracious and merciful; Slow to anger and great in lovingkindness. The LORD is good to all, And His mercies are over all His works.
Psalm 145:8-9
As believers in Christ, we hopefully understand God's grace and mercy. After all, were it not for who God is and what He has done, none of us would understand or receive salvation. Yet, God isn't stingy with His grace and mercy. The sunshine you enjoy on a beautiful day also warms everyone else in your area. Good health, jobs, education, families and friends are all the result of God's grace and mercy over His creation. Even those who don't recognize or thank Him for His goodness are recipients of it. Even on a Friday non-believers will use the term, "T.G.I.F", even though they may not understand the "G." As Psalm 145:9 says, "The LORD is good to all, and His mercies are over all His works." However, His universal mercy is only temporal and cannot save anyone eternally. Although God offers the mercy and grace of salvation to all through the gospel of Jesus Christ, only those who accept Him by faith receive it. As a result, "T.G.I.F" is more than just about a certain day. Because of the work of Jesus it stands for, "Thank God It's Finished!" His grace and mercy are complete!
