On August 16, 1981, a major water main ruptured in Jersey City, leaving thousands of residents without running water, including many elderly apartment dwellers. In response, city officials connected fire hoses directly to apartment complexes and opened street hydrants, allowing residents to collect water in buckets while crews worked to restore service.

The Garden State sits right on the linguistic fault line between two major American dialects. North Jersey sounds more like New York. South Jersey sounds more like Philadelphia. Which side are you on? And what did I miss?

A South Plainfield landmark for more than 135 years. From its beginnings as The Norman House in the 1890s to today’s KC’s Korner, this historic corner continues to bring people together with great food, cold drinks, and one of the best outdoor bars in town.

Still taking it all in.

A huge thank you to the Somerset Patriots organization and especially the Director of Corporate Sponsorships, Riley Kirsch , for making this incredible opportunity possible. From the moment I arrived, everyone made it a first-class experience that I’ll never forget.

Getting the chance to throw out the first pitch, be on the field, and experience Jersey Diner Night in front of such an amazing crowd was truly special.

Thank you for the hospitality, the memories, and for making this such an unforgettable day. ⚾️❤️

After 10+ years in Brooklyn, maybe it’s time for the Nets to come home to New Jersey.

From deep Garden State roots and stepping out of the Knicks’ shadow to stronger identity, arena possibilities, and nostalgia that still resonates - there’s a real case to be made. Add in the beaches, boardwalks, food, and off-season Jersey culture, and the fit feels natural.

So what do you think??

1990 interviews with Seaside Heights boardwalk employees showed a different Shore era - long summer shifts, packed nights, seasonal friendships, and a boardwalk that felt like its own small town before the modern Jersey Shore image took over.
