Lakewood- The Lakewood Hotel opened in 1891 during the town’s heyday as an exclusive winter resort for the wealthy and famous. It was one of Lakewood’s grand hotels alongside Laurel House and Laurel-in-the-Pines, welcoming elite guests from New York, Philadelphia and beyond. It was demolished in 1925 after years of declining business and the end of the resort era in town.
