Another hot day is in store for today, Tuesday, July 29th, with an Extreme Heat Warning issued for Volusia, Lake, Seminole, Orange and Osceola Counties. A Heat Advisory is in effect for Brevard, Okeechobee County and the Treasure Coast. High temperatures will reach the mid 90s along the coast and upper 90s to near 100 degrees across the interior from Osceola County northward, including Greater Orlando. Heat indices will reach up to 108 to 112 in the Advisory area and up to 112 to 115 in the Extreme Heat Warning area. The HeatRisk across the area will also be in the Major to Extreme category today. Dangerous heat is expected. Be sure to keep hydrated, take frequent breaks in the shade and wear light clothing. There will be a low chance for lightning storms near the I-4 corridor developing in the mid to late afternoon and early evening.

If you live close to Eastridge Middle School, don't panic if you hear a lot of noise - it's a school training exercise:

If you hear loud noises and see lots of police officers and deputies at schools this week, don’t be alarmed! The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is conducting active assailant training for all School Resource Deputies, School Resource Officers, and Safe School Officers. The sessions will be held on Thursday, July 31, at East Ridge Middle School and on Friday, August 1, at Umatilla High School, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. The interactive training will include simulated gunfire and student actors to create real-life situations. Thank you to all involved for everything you do to keep our Lake County Schools campuses safe!
