Day Four of “Christmas in July” features one of the most popular Christmas Carols ever performed.

“Greensleeves” dates to the 16th century as a traditional English folk song. Claude T Smith Publications created a masterful setting for this timeless classic, providing many solo opportunities and melodic interest throughout the band's sections. The use of standard and contemporary harmonies gives the listener a wonderful experience. This flexible arrangement, by Joseph Earp, allows ensembles to perform the work with as few as thirteen musicians, providing accessibility and flexibility for numerous instrumentation needs while allowing a full ensemble sound.

One of the great things about Claude T. Smith publications lies beyond the music. The memories and sentiments the company represents provide an avenue for remembrance, culture, and love. CTS publications are dedicated to keeping past and present music in the hands of amateur and professional musicians, from school bands and orchestras to professional symphonies and vocal ensembles. I rarely see instances where a music company reaches beyond the selling of music into the foundations of what makes our culture great.

On July 15th, Claude T. Smith Publications will release a choral work entitled, “My Shepherd Will Supply My Need”. This piece was dedicated to Claude T. Smith’s father, Claude M. Smith.
