Hace exactamente un año, el 22 de septiembre de 2024, recibí una noticia que me llenó de alegría: fui seleccionado para el programa En Residencia 2024-25 del Koubek Center - Miami Dade College. En ese momento, fue uno de los reconocimiento más importante de mi carrera, incluso más que cualquier otro festival de cine o premios.

Sin embargo, poco después, mi vida dio un giro inesperado. Un grave accidente automovilístico dejó mi coche destrozado y me obligó a estar de baja por seis meses, con interminables sesiones de fisioterapia.
Fue un periodo muy duro. Sentí que me perdí una gran oportunidad.
Aun así, a pesar de mi ausencia, me siento inmensamente agradecido con el Miami Dade College por su confianza en mí y por haberme elegido para formar parte de esta comunidad. Estaba listo para colaborar con creadores de diversas disciplinas y orígenes, y a pesar de todo, la gratitud sigue intacta. Quiero agradecer especialmente al equipo del Koubek Center por esta increíble oportunidad de haber estado en un espacio tan hermoso, creando junto a artistas únicos.

Como dijo Melissa Messulam, directora del Koubek Center: "El programa En Residencia es un pilar de la misión del Centro Koubek de construir comunidad a través de las artes. A través de este programa, esperamos brindar un espacio que inspire a los artistas a ser creativos, les ayude a mantener su práctica, a generar nuevas posibilidades y a construir conexiones entre ellos y con la comunidad".

Con la mirada puesta en lo que está por venir.

Our August was not just one story but a tapestry woven with two threads: one of grit and one of grace. It was a month we had to earn, demanding everything I had, yet giving back so much more.

I felt the weight of my neck brace, a silent vow of hardship worn against my skin. In the same breath, there was the cool, vast exhale of the city—a place where the streets seemed to know my secret and wash it clean.

And then there was Ohana, our loyal heart, wrapped in a cone and pajamas, a gentle ache we carried together. I see us, and I know that even in the quiet moments of discomfort, there was a shared tenderness.

But what truly filled my month were the souls who came close—Carla and our furry family. Their faces and Carla's laughter were a balm, a melody that proved joy was still my language. They are the light that showed me August didn’t just endure; it was truly lived.

These pictures are not merely a record of challenging times; they are proof that I was alive in those moments. Heavy and light, broken and healing—our August encompassed all these feelings, and that’s what made it beautifully and undeniably ours.

Welcome to Docs in Motion and Arquía Productions, we're dedicated to providing you the very best in Video Production and Post-Production, with an emphasis on creativity, costumer service and professionalism.

Founded in 2010 by Carla López and Víctor Jiménez, Docs in Motion has come a long way from its beginnings as a documentary films and music promoters. When Carla and Victor first started out, their passion for films, music and video production drove them to start their own video production company.
