"Tonight, I walked in from the store with my arms full and a brand new candle in my bag. As I struggled to get it all on the counter, one bag dropped and I heard the glass break. My brand new candle was ruined as the glass shattered. Frustrated, I was ready to throw the whole thing away. My husband refused to let me do so. “It will still light; it will still serve its’ purpose,” he stated. Immediately, I began to argue back.... “But it’s broken and ugly and glass is everywhere. It’s just not the same.”
I walked away and when I came back, he had placed the candle on the counter and lit the wick.
My heart immediately was drawn to the light. How often do we do this in our own lives or with others? Things don’t turn out the way we want them to. Plans fail. Dreams shatter. Goals hit the floor. People break our hearts. And we are ready to throw the whole dang thing in the trash. Even though it can still light.... still shine.... still bring the fragrance of goodness. It just may not be pretty or in the package that we wanted or imagined.
Tonight, may we all be reminded that even in the brokenness and cutting edge of life, there is still goodness and purpose and light. We simply must be willing to not throw it all away and allow the redemption to take place. There are times that our story will simply speak a little louder and impact even more people when we are willing to allow the broken places of our life and story to shine for others to see and understand."

“This afternoon I was coming up my street and I noticed a stopped USPS truck across from my house. It wasn’t until I was at my driveway that I realized the USPS driver was not in the truck, but rather standing at attention next to it, saluting the flag my neighbor was raising. I stopped right there and grabbed my camera off the seat next to me, took off my hat, and captured the moment. I then waited until the flag was fully raised before I walked over to introduce myself, asked him for his permission to share this moment, and thanked him for his service. But again, many thanks to retired U.S. Army sergeant Robert Franklin, who is still serving his country, rain sleet or snow. He is the manifestation of true patriotism, and I am proud to have met him.”

"UPS driver Dallen Harrell recognized a lot of the boxes he was dropping off at Jess Kitchel’s house… Because he was getting the same things delivered himself.
See Dallen is a new father and knew right away the things he was delivering for the Kitchel’s were for their new baby as well.
He saw the little stork in their front yard with the, “IT’S A BOY!” sign, when they came home from the hospital.
So instead of just dropping the boxes off and going about his day, Dallen stopped and looked right in their doorbell camera.
He told them he was a new Dad himself and wished them a lot of luck with their newborn.
“I just hope everything is going good,” he tells the camera. “God bless, Happy Holidays.”
His sweet message meant the world to Mom, Jessica.
She was so touched by his kindness, she shared his message with her followers on Instagram.
“It’s easy to focus on what isn’t going right with all of the staff shortages… but it’s good to be reminded there are still great people out there working!”
She wrote that she wished she knew his name, so she could thank him for his kindness.
Well social media came through, and the two of them were able to connect!
Dallen came and met Jessica’s family, her baby boy and her daughter, and Jessica shared Dallen’s baby registry for his little bundle of love as well!
A diaper company saw their story and sponsored diapers for Dallen’s family for the next 6 months!
Now Jessica’s friends and family are buying out Dallen’s registry - and you can tell from the picture what a sweet friendship they now share.
There is so much goodness out there - and sometimes it’s delivered right to your front door." ❤️

A teacher gave a balloon to every student, who had to inflate it, write their name on it and throw it in the hallway. The teacher then mixed all the balloons. The students were then given 5 minutes to find their own balloon. Despite a hectic search, no one found their balloon.
At that point, the teacher told the students to take the first balloon that they found and hand it to the person whose name was written on it. Within 5 minutes, everyone had their own balloon.
The teacher said to the students: "These balloons are like happiness. We will never find it if everyone is looking for their own. But if we care about other people's happiness, we'll find ours too."
May your day be filled with happiness. ❤️

night I saw a post that said “what would women do with out us”.. everything.. we would do absolutely everything.
Tonight I mowed my yard with my almost two year old on my hip. Why? Because she was not taking no for an answer and being a single mom of four I didn’t have a choice.
She wanted her mom and it needed done.
I grew up without a man in the house. My mom was a single mom of 3 girls. I watched her work her butt off for many years. We did things on our own. We did all the yard work, we maintained the house, we did all the things a man could do.
So gentlemen keep in mind.. a woman doesn’t need you. There is a big difference between want and need. When a woman takes time out of her day/night to talk to you or see you remember it’s because she wants to.
Ladies don’t ever lose your independence or forget what all you’re capable of!

"I graduated High School this week. When my dad said he had a present for me I thought I was getting some cheesy graduation card. But what I received was something truly priceless. Following the ceremony he handed me a bag with a copy of "Oh The Places You'll Go" by Doctor Seuss inside. At first I just smiled and said that it meant a lot and that I loved that book. But then he told me, 'No, open it up.'
On the first page I see a short paragraph written by none other than my kindergarten teacher. I start tearing up but I'm still confused. He tells me, 'Every year, for the past 13 years, since the day you started kindergarten I've gotten every teacher, coach and principal to write a little something about you inside this book.'
"My early teachers mention my "pigtails and giggles" while my high school teachers mention my "wit and sharp thinking." But they all mention my humor and love for life. It is astounding to receive something this moving, touching nostalgic and thoughtful."

BORN TO RUN:
“This is Maria Salomé. She is pictured here on her way to winning in the women’s division of the 10K event in connection with the 2012 marathon sponsored by Oxxo, the big convenience store chain.
Maria Salomé is a woman from a group of reclusive indigenous people called the Tarahumaras who live in the southwestern part of the state of Chihuahua. They shy away from contact with the outside world and remain for the most part isolated there. However, they are legendary long distance runners and have been doing this for centuries.”
She ran without running shoes, without proper clothing and with her hair loose... She competed only with a great condition and mainly a big heart.. and with pride to their land, chihuahua and all Mexico!... good for her!

ONCE AGAIN, we are being reminded that the most valuable linemen are not in the NFL. They are the ones that climb up poles and crawl into lift baskets in frigid temperatures to maintain and restore our lifestyles.
Thanks to all the fine folks who go to great heights to provide comfort for the rest of us. ❤️
