The 8.8-magnitude earthquake off Russia’s coast led to widespread warnings of potentially destructive waves. The entire West Coast of the United States was under some kind of an alert and officials in Hawaii told people to seek higher ground.

Waves have been confirmed to hit Hawaii at 1900 HST with Alaska and Washington state coasts around MIDNIGHT AST..

Reports saying Hogan had minor surgery past week. Paramedics were called out to his Florida home after being unresponsive. .

FROM THE KBDT-DB/IM NEWSROOM: American Pentecostal televangelist and gospel artist Jimmy Swaggert has died.

Swaggart was one of the most well-known televangelists in America.

During the 1980s, his crusades were a major part of his ministry—drawing large crowds and receiving significant media attention.

Swaggert founded Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, which owns and operates the SonLife Broadcasting Network (SBN). He also founded the Jimmy Swaggart Bible College. Swaggart was the senior pastor of the Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Owning several radio stations in the 1980's he sold them because he wanted to have a university similar to Oral Robert's.

KWJS-FM in Arlington, Tx (Dallas/Fort Worth) calls stood for "World of Jimmy Swaggert ".
KBDT-DB/IM and Balfour Omnimedia Company owner/President Mick Williams was an intern at KWJS-FM.

Swaggart wrote about 50 Christian books offered through his ministry. He sold over 15 million records worldwide as a gospel artist and he also received one Grammy nomination.

On June 15, 2025, his son, Donnie Swaggart, reported that Swaggart had suffered cardiac arrest at his Louisiana home, and had been hospitalized in the ICU.

Media reports confirmed that Swaggart died at a hospital in Baton Rouge, La on earlier today.
His was 90.

FROM THE KBDT-DB/IM NEWSROOM: Governor Abbott signs cell phone ban in schools.

House Bill 1481 requires public school districts or open-enrollment charter schools to adopt and implement policies prohibiting students from using a "personal communication device" in the course of school hours.

Under the bill, the school would either have to prohibit students from bringing devices on campus or provide a way for the student to store the device while on school property.

The policy also requires schools to have punishments in place for students who are found using the devices.

The lists of banned personal communication devices includes cell phones, tablets, smartwatches, radio devices, paging devices or any other electronic devices "capable of telecommunication or digital communication." The bill makes exceptions for devices provided by the school.

There are also exceptions for devices needed for an education program, if a student has a doctor's note or if it is necessary to comply with health or safety requirements or the school's safety protocols. #2025 kbdtim

Governor Greg Abbott signed a bill banning Texas students from using cell phones during the school day.

No merger with Albertsons. Underperformed stores. Lot of leases are up for renewal and Kroger not signing.
Others closing early from 1am to 11pm.

Kroger near me for 40+ years closing in July. It's not the end.

New Tom Thumnb store (Albertsons owned) opening soon couple of blocks away!

Kroger said all employees at the affected stores will be offered jobs at other locations.

FROM THE KBDT-IM/DB NEWSROOM: Food Network host Anne Burrell has died. She was found "unresponsive and unconscious " this morning at her home in Brooklyn.
A cause of death is pending an autopsy.

Burrell began her career in television after teaching at the Institute of Culinary Education in the early 2000s.

She became a Food Network star by appearing on Iron Chef America, Chef Wanted, Chopped and Worst Cooks in America. I

n March 2025, the Cazenovia, N.Y., native was featured on the competition series House of Knives.
I
n addition to her on-camera work, Burrell released two cookbooks: 2011's Cook Like a Rock Star, which was a New York Times bestseller, and Own Your Kitchen: Recipes to Inspire and Empower.

Burrell was 55.
