I’m very, very happy to announce I’ll be hosting a small group back in Iceland at the Highlands Lodge July 1-6, 2027. The team at Fish Partner is wonderful and will take great care of our team as we walk, wade, and chase Icelandic Ice Age brown trout and Arctic char. Each evening we’ll come home to the comfort of the “Highlands Lodge,” which hosts up to eight anglers in cozy quarters with wonderful, chef-crafted fresh meals.

The cost is USD $6,825 per person, with a shared room and guide. This trip will fill quickly, so DM if you’d like more info.

My first day in Iceland with this last trip was spent fishing with the awesome .gudny. It’s surprisingly rare to get to fish with another woman who just “gets it”—who fishes hard and has a heck of a lot of fun doing it. We jumped right into brown trout paradise and laughed our way through the afternoon.

Suffice to say, we had a quite a day. 💪🏼💃🐟

Another fish that’s still on my brain after the past few weeks with . Just a couple hours after landing in Reykjavik, I was hooked into this personal-best brown trout. Hadn’t slept in something like 36 hours but, well, priorities.
gudny knew right where to take us and what fly to use… and was kind enough to grab the camera and get some shots. Thanks, lady! Look forward to the next time fishing with you.

(I’d love to say I waited hours, crouched there with the camera waiting for this moment in the cast and a rising fish. Reality? This one was pure luck and I didn’t even notice the fish in the shot until David messaged and told me. 😆 The short days at home in between shots are like that.)
