Indianola Peeps: weather update for today through the weekend

Thursday- cloudy with snow moving into the area between 11a-12p (1100-1200). Snow will continue until 5-6p (1700-1800) before a chance of a light glaze of freezing rain could move through until 8p (2000). Expectation of around an inch of snow. Could see 0.02" of ice accumulation if the freezing rain does come through. SE winds of 5-10 mph in the morning then switching to 6-8 mph out of the East in the afternoon. High of 30 and low of 21.

Friday- mostly cloudy. NW winds of 7-15 mph with gusts up to low 20's. High of 28 and low of 7.

Saturday- snow in the morning then gradually clearing starting in the late afternoon. Expecting around 2-3 inches of snow. Northerly winds of 7-12 mph. High of 12 and low of -10 with a wind chill factor of -22.

Sunday- sunny. NW winds of 5-10 mph. High of 11 and low of 2.

Indianola Peeps: weather update for Thursday

Thursday- cloudy with a chance of snow in the morning before noon (1200) then in the afternoon we could see a mix of freezing rain/snow before 5pm (1700). From 5-7p (1700-1900) we could see a transition it light snow. Overall I see getting around half to three quarters of an inch of snow and possibly a tenth of an inch of ice. If that happens the roads will be really slick during commute. SE winds of 5-10 mph. High of 30 and low of 21.

Indianola Peeps: weather update for Tuesday night into Wednesday

Tuesday night

1) mostly cloudy.

2) The winds will be out of the SW at 12-17 mph in the afternoon then after 6pm (1800) will start ramping up to NW winds of 15-22 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

3) Low of 27.

Wednesday

1) mostly cloudy

2) NW winds of 25-30 mph with gusts up to mid 40's in the morning then becoming 13-20 mph in the afternoon.

3) High of 32.

Monday- mostly sunny. Southerly winds of 5-10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. High of 32 and low of 26.

Tuesday- partly sunny. SW winds of 8-15 mph with gusts up to mid 20's. High of 45 and low of 27.

Wednesday- mostly cloudy. NW winds of 10-20 mph with gusts up to upper 20's. High of 31 and low of 17.

Thursday- chance of snow otherwise cloudy. NE winds of 5-7 mph. High of 26 and low of 8.

Friday- mostly cloudy. NW winds of 10-18 mph. High of 14 and low of -3.

Indianola Peeps: weather for Saturday

Saturday
1) mostly cloudy with snow starting in the late evening between 5-6pm (1700-1800) and continuing until midnight-1am (0000-0100).

2) This is a system that is called a snow clipper that his a fast moving system that pushes a heavy amount of snow in a short period of time. This will be a soft fluffy snow that could make roads slick.

3) Expectations are 2-4 inches of snow.

4) Winds will be out of the SE at 5-10 mph then becoming 10-15 mph in the evening with gusts up to low 20's.

5) High of 30 and low of 15.

Indianola Peeps: weather update for this week

Wednesday- slight chance of light flurries in the morning otherwise mostly cloudy. NW winds of 7-17 mph with gusts up to mid 20's. High of 30, which will be first thing in the morning, and it will be near 15 by sunset. The low overnight will be -11 with a wind chill of -20.

Thursday-sunny. calm winds then becoming Southerly at 5-10 mph in the afternoon. High of 14 and low of 3.

Then.........

Saturday night
Snow chance as a snow clipper will move through Saturday night into Sunday morning. It is a fast moving system that will dump a couple of inches real fast then move on. Timing and amounts are again not 100% as it could push more into Sunday. Stay tuned.

Indianola Peeps: weather for the week of 01-07 DEC 2025. Welcome to Meteorological Winter, it starts 01 DEC.

Monday- cloudy with snow starting after 10am (1000) and continuing until mid afternoon 3-4pm (1500-1600). Expectations of 1-2 inches of snow possible. Calm winds in the morning and then becoming Southerly at 5-7 mph. High of 23 and low of 9 with a wind chill of 0.

Tuesday- mostly sunny during the day then becoming mostly cloudy in the evening. SW winds of 6-12 mph with gusts up to 19 mph. High of 30 and low of 23 with a wind chill of 0.

Wednesday- mostly cloudy. NW winds of 10-15 mph with gusts up to mid 20's. High of 31 will be in the morning hours and gradually drop through the day. The low will be, get ready, -10.

Thursday- sunny. SW winds of 5-10 mph. High of 13 and low of 2.

Friday- partly sunny. WSW winds of 8-10 mph. High of 28 and low of 18.

Saturday- cloudy. Southerly winds of 6-12 mph. High of 32 and low of 15.

Sunday- partly sunny. 5-12 mph. High of 23 and low of 7.

Indianola Peeps: weather update for the snow storm

Storm
1) We could see some lighter flurries ahead of the heavier stuff starting in the early evening close to 6pm (1800). Not expecting any significant accumulation from it.

2) The first real band of snow will move in between 9-10pm (2100-2200).

3) By morning light we will have around 3.5-4 inches on the ground.

4) The rest of the day we will see bands of heavy snow intertwined with steady snow.

5) Snow will start tapering down in the early evening before stopping before 9pm (2100).

6) Expecting to see around 8-10 inches of snow total.

7) Winds will be calm in the morning then becoming SE at 5-8 mph. Then gradually increasing as the day goes on. When the snow comes it will be 10-15 mph with gusts up to mid 20's through rest of Saturday.

Indianola Peeps: weather update for Friday into Saturday. I am really confident on timing and becoming more confident on the amount of snow.

Friday
1) Partly cloudy with increasing clouds throughout the day. Snow will move into the area between 10p-12a (2200-0000). First round of snow will be lighter then increase after midnight.

2) Winds be calm in the morning then becoming 5-8 mph out of the SE in the afternoon. As the snow moves in the they will increase.

3) High of 34 and low of 19.

Saturday
1) Snow will increase in intensity after midnight (0000) and will continue to snow throughout the rest of the day. There will be fluctuations in rate of snow as the day goes on. Snow is looking to end before midnight (0000). The rate will drop down significantly around 9p (2100). Good time for plows to get out.

2) Here is what everyone is waiting to know: how much snow will we get? Looking at all the models up to now, I believe we will have anywhere between 7-9 inches.

3) The winds will be out of the SE at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

4) High of 33 and low of 13.

Indianola Peeps: weather update for this weekend.

Having been asked about when is a good time to travel, I am giving an update. I am getting more confident in timing but it could vary slightly.

Friday
1) Timing for snow arrival around the metro will be between 5-7pm (1700-1900).

2) Will come in from the Northwest and slowly move in a Southeasterly direction.

3) SE winds of 5-10 mph.

4) High of 32 and low of 27.

Saturday
1) Snow will continue throughout the rest of the day and ending in the earling evening hours.

2) As of right now we are on the border of heavy to moderate amount of snow. I am leaning towards the heavier side. I am predicting 5-7 inches as of right now. I am 50/50 on this right now. I am confident we will have atleast over 4 inches.

3) NW winds of 15-25 mph.

4) High of 35 and low of 15.

Travel is best before evening on Friday and late Sunday. I would not advise travel on Saturday.

Indianola Peeps: weather update for tonight and this weekend. Snow is coming!

Today
1) cloudy early then after 2pm (1400) gradually becoming mostly sunny.

2) The winds will start at Westerly at 5 mph then as the clouds move out they will become 10-20 mph with gusts up to mid 30's during the afternoon. After sunset the winds will increase to 20-28 mph with gusts up to mid 40's. Watch your Christmas decorations!

3) High of 45 and low of 30.

Friday through Saturday
1) mostly cloudy early. Snow timing could change some but as of now looking to arrive late afternoon.

2) Becoming more confident that the snow will continue throughout the night and into Saturday. The snow is looking to end mid afternoon on Saturday.

3) Snow totals are varying from 3-8 inches so this is just too early to pinpoint amounts.

Indianola Peeps: weather for the week of 24-30 NOV 2025

Before anyone asks its too early to be definitive on timing, amount, and the areas effected by the coming snow storm next weekend. Stay tuned through the week as I give you updates. The problem is there are many different models out there giving multiple amounts of snow totals. Like I said its too early to have real confidence. I am confident that there will be some snow.

Monday- fog before 10am (1000) then rain before noon (1200) otherwise cloudy in the afternoon. Chance of rain in the evening. Expectations of a tenth of an inch of rain. Southerly winds of 5-8 mph. High of 53 and low of 47.

Tuesday- partly sunny. NW winds of 12-18 mph with gusts up to mid 20's. High of 55 and low of 29.

Wednesday- mostly sunny. NW winds of 10-20 mph with gusts up to high 20's. High of 38 and low of 20.

Happy Thanksgiving (Thursday)- sunny. NW winds of 6-12 mph. High of 36 and low of 21.

Friday- partly sunny during the day. Chance of snow in the evening. Easterly winds of 5-10 mph. High of 34 and low of 25.

Saturday- chance of snow otherwise cloudy. Easterly winds of 8-10 mph. High of 34 and low of 24.

Sunday- chance of snow otherwise cloudy. Northerly winds of 8-12 mph. High of 31 and low of 21.
