A year or so ago, I approached some childhood friends to see if they wanted us to write a fun jingle for their company, Quality Plumbing, Inc. Their response was "We don't need a jingle, Sam - we need a full on marketing campaign".
My ears perked up because I immediately saw it as an opportunity to help my buddies out and also do something I've always wanted to do - help create a full advertising campaign from the ground up.
Right away I called another old friend of mine, Logan Hendricks, to ask if he'd want to do this with me. Over the next few weeks he and I assembled an absolute dream team to pull this thing off.
First, brother Daniel B. Billen and pal Ryan Pinkston stepped in to help with writing these bad boiz. We sat together at Suzy's Cafe one day coming up with concepts - we were crying tears of joy into our chili Frito pies as we came up with dumber and dumber awkward toilet scenarios.
Next I reached out to my editor friend Stacy Moon (knowing that she had edited I Think You Should Leave, the Rehearsal, etc. - some of my fave comedy shows) and she fit the bill perfectly! Then we got local legends Tom Hipp (producer), Taylre Jones (color), Chris Commons (DP) on board by telling them 'we're making a plumbing commercial with people sitting on toilets' - they were instantly SOLD!!
There were so many other talented people that worked on this - too many to list (well, I will list them in the credits below...) but I can't mention the dream team without mentioning our set designer, Cory Hinesley. She took our idea and executed the vibe perfectly. When you watch this clip, you ARE TRANSPORTED into grandma's basement bathroom - whether you want to be there or not! Lol
All that said - this is the first of two spots we'll be releasing - I'll be posting the next one up in the next week!
If you want MORE of these spots, please comment 'more please' and I'll try to convince Quality Plumbing to let us make this into a long-term campaign where we keep thinking of crazier and crazier set-ups. If you absolutely hate this because it makes you completely uncomfortable, know that you aren't alone and please forget that you ever saw it but DON'T forget to call Quality Plumbing for all of your plumbing and HVAC needs!!
