Wow!!!

Out now: Fishbone - Stockholm Syndrome

It remains to be seen if frontman Angelo Moore can still do a back-flip while playing the sax, but Fishbone’s first album in nearly 20 years suggests that he probably can.

Stockholm Syndrome uses the same all-encompassing, high-energy approach that made albums like Truth And Soul such essential listening in the 90s. Everything fizzes with vitality, from the George Clinton-augmented Last Call In America to the blissful psych-soul plea for sanity of Love Is Love, and the band’s restless, genre-hopping glee is as infectious as ever.

They are also still avowedly unpredictable: Gelato The Clown is pure vaudevillian mischief with an evil twinkle in its eye, the p***y Adolescent Regressive Behaviour is absolutely itching for a scrap, and Hellhound On My Trail is a big-band, ska-punk riot.

Fishbone have always been a force for good, too. Righteous indignation at the state of the world shines through on the Trump-assailing Racist Piece Of S**t, and the shimmering dub of Why Do We Keep On Dying.

Still insanely entertaining and still kicking against the pricks, Fishbone have never been more needed.

I'd like to say how difficult it is to stay active in independent film and music production. I just watched a reel by on talking the realities of a financially skewed music industry. We do things differently. We have produced The Headhunters "The Stunt Man" and Fishbone's next record, and half a dozen others with the extraordinary and his incredible team and including the wonderfully creative and others. Why would I put money into other people's art? Because I wanted to create a production and streaming system that was, and now is, wildly different from the mainstream. And we have paid our first filmmakers more money than I've seen in the last 20 years on the films shown on the first three slides. You can help by tagging (in the comments) or sharing this post to filmmakers anywhere or San Francisco Bay Area musicians, bands, etc. Stream content where there is a direct connection with the films and music artists on a platform that pays from the first stream.

TVU made its first dollar streaming Cinema TVU content. Our friend suggested I mint it in true digital fashion as an NFT (I'm on it). Don't stream from us because we have cool content (though we do). Stream from us because we pay our creators on Cinema TVU $1.20 per stream from the first dollar. For the other channels on our site where our production costs may be recouped (Radio TVU) the minimum any artist will make is $0.42 per stream from the first dollar. Our target audience is the creator, our shared audience are those that wish to support the creators. Join the TVUniverse
