Lost in the din of more salacious recent news was this little tidbit, which is actually quite impactful. It will lead to some fundamental changes on the Internet, and will affect hundreds of thousands of websites. I've been avoiding Flash for a couple of years now simply because I thought this was coming (Flash was doomed when Apple refused to try and integrate it into IOS), and while it was a game-changer in its time, as happens with many technological marvels, this is one that has reached its obsolescence. Happy trails, Flash.

After helping pave the way for YouTube, countless games and millions of browser-based irritations, Flash is ending.
