Colin Kaepernick starred at Nevada from 2007–2010, becoming the only player in NCAA history with 10,000+ passing and 4,000+ rushing yards. A two-time WAC Offensive Player of the Year, he led the Pack to a 13–1 season and a top-15 finish in 2010, highlighted by a legendary win over No. 3 Boise State.
Drafted by the 49ers in 2011, Kaepernick took over at QB for an injured Alex Smith midway through 2012 and made an immediate impact. He led San Francisco to the Super Bowl that season, breaking the NFL single-game rushing record for a quarterback in the playoffs with 181 yards vs. Green Bay. With a rocket arm and unmatched mobility, he became one of the league’s most dangerous QBs.
Kaepernick threw for over 12,000 yards and 72 touchdowns in his six NFL seasons, while adding 2,300+ rushing yards and 13 scores on the ground. Off the field, he made a lasting impact through activism and advocacy, becoming a global figure in the fight for racial justice. 🏈
