So I bought a book called Clean and Green by Nancy Birtwhistle, has loads of hacks and tips, one tip was to clean oven racks by simply placiing racks on your Lawn overnight if really dirty turn over and leave for a second night. Puzzled as to how this would work, I gave it a try, brought racks in after 1 night washed with dish soap and burnt on grime came off really easily!

My husband was going to burn his old gun cabinet. That wasn’t happening with me around. So I repurposed it into a quilt cabinet.

Edit: I can’t believe how many people like my little gun/quilt cabinet! It turned out really cute! Even though I didn’t like the paint when I originally put it on, so I started sanding it off! Then it looked kind of old and antiqued. So I just sanded few other places. This is what I ended up with. I actually have a few more quilts to add! Some times the simplest things turn out to be the best.

I really need to make us a head board!

Im excited that we will sleep under a handmade quilt tonight. Some of the fabrics in it were in a stash of my husband’s grandmother that his sister gave me before she passed. Most of the fabrics are scraps from things I’ve made.

EDIT- For those that asked it weighs 17lbs.

Two cheesecloth tops combined . I undid four seams and inserted triangles of lace to cause a flare and also to give more room as the main piece was styled too straight and was not flattering. The motives on the front were transferred from the donor top snd some from my stash.
