Happy Birthday to Meeeee!!! Thank you God for blessing me with another year and the wonderful people strategically placed in my life. Thank you to everyone that acknowledged my birthday as something so simple shows tremendous kindness. ❤️
The month of March instantly puts life into perspective for me. It is a month for to reflect on the tremendous sorrow I feel at times for my loved ones that are no longer physically here. My father passing away 2 years ago on March 8th, my neighbor’s birthday on March 4th… I discovered her body while trying to remain calm while her 11 year old daughter thought Mommy was sleep but won’t wake up… and then one of the most incredible people I have ever met… the one person who I celebrated my birthday with every year for the last 5 years being murdered this past August… her birthday is March 6th, today. March reminds me that there is no pain so great as the memory of joy in present sorrow and that tears are the silent language of grief. Happiness is beneficial for the body, but it is grief that develops the powers of the mind for there is no grief like the grief that does not speak. So I’m speaking about my grief as I know it is therapeutic to my soul and I know what’s important in life and what isn’t. My tears are of happiness and unforgettable memories.
As I look ahead to the future, I’m excited to see what’s next. More adventures, new experiences, and opportunities to learn and create more memories. At the end of the day, love, family, relationships, connection, and being there for one another are what’s REALLY important. I try to treat life as precious as it is. Each day. Always.

One thing about God... He never fails me.

Thanks to everyone for the beautiful birthday wishes and kind expressions of condolences for my Dad. These past days have definitely been a test of my faith but I am assured that God is always right there with me... and so is my Dad.

On March 8, 2021, I held his hand as my Dad took his last breath on earth. He lost his battle with dementia. A battle that slowly robbed him of his ability to remember and then how to walk, talk and even how to eat. My heart aches an unimaginable pain but I know Dad is in heaven with our Father and for that I’m incredibly thankful. Although 2020 served most people unbelievable challenges, it allowed me the opportunity to spend time with my Dad that I am forever grateful for 🙏🏽

On this picture, that smile is the way I’m imagining him. That smile was joyful, giving and genuine. He was those things, everyday, leading with kindness, living his life simply ...never demanded anything or complained. He was just GOOD. A GOOD person... a GREAT person... my HERO.
What I would give for just one more smile ❤️

Rest in perfect peace and freedom, Dad. 🕊
