Cheerleading, once considered a sideline activity, has evolved into a highly competitive sport thanks to the efforts of organizations like the Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA). Founded by Jeff Webb in 1974, UCA has been instrumental in shaping cheerleading into the dynamic and athletic activity it is today.

Origins of UCA:

Jeff Webb, a former cheerleader at the University of Oklahoma, recognized the potential for cheerleading to become a respected sport. In 1974, he founded the Universal Cheerleaders Association with the vision of providing opportunities for cheerleaders to showcase their skills and athleticism. Webb's passion for cheerleading and his entrepreneurial spirit laid the foundation for what would become one of the most influential organizations in the cheerleading world.
