When news of the fire broke in Philly, many felt a deep ache for what was lost.

The Art Alliance Building, home to over a century of creative history, now stands charred and shuttered. For some, it held personal dreams. A place where art was celebrated and futures were shaped.

And now, a heavy question remains:
What happens to Philly’s art legacy, and what will future generations inherit?

The answers are still unfolding.

In music, Beyoncé continues her legendary streak, as "Cowboy Carter" reaches one year on the Billboard 200, a milestone every one of her solo albums has achieved! And Rihanna is back on top, with "Friend of Mine" soaring to number one on the Dance Digital Song Sales chart.

Inspiring news for Africa too! Tems is launching her "Leading the Vibe" initiative in Lagos on August 8 and 9, empowering young African women in music. Plus, the iconic Angélique Kidjo is set to receive a Hollywood Walk of Fame star, making her the first Black African musician to receive this honor!

In sports, a huge win for women's football! CAF has doubled the winner's prize money for the TotalEnergies WAFCON Morocco 2024 to one million dollars!

On July 2, the U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus brought music and tribute to Independence Mall, joined by The War and Treaty for a soul-stirring performance honoring those who serve.

Thousands of Black folks followed her lead, boycotting the buses, walking for miles, organizing carpools, holding the line. For over a year.
