Hillary J. Slama, Engel & Völkers Prior Lake Hillary’s real estate career started in 2008 after moving to the Twin Cities area from a small farming community in southern Minnesota.

Today is PIE DAY ♥️♥️♥️

I remember my first year doing this event at the McColl ELC with roughly 25 past clients in attendance. And 3 months pregnant with the little lady in this pic who is about to turn 9 🎂🎉🎁

In early 2017 I brought on and she helped me take a once rather small event and turn it into something I could have only dreamed of. We hosted at Dunn Bros, defied Covid restrictions in 2020 and hosted at and the following year brought it to the new shop on Main ✨✨✨

10 years later and now over a 100 pies out the door each year .. nothing but grateful, thankful and extremely blessed 🙏🙏🙏

October 2025 Housing Market Report.

‼️Days on market increased 7.1% to 45 days on market‼️.

Recent national data shows that first-time buyer share has shrunk to just 21% and their median age has climbed to 40, highlighting the challenges first-time buyers face in today’s housing market. Minnesota stands out as the only state where homeownership rates for Gen Z and younger millennials are over 50%.

That said, fewer people can afford to buy homes, which is constraining both supply and demand. In October, seller activity increased while buyer activity fell statewide. Overall, 54.8% of counties had more sales than last October, while 51.9% showed new listings growth.
The average 30-year mortgage rate stood around 6.25% this October compared to 6.43% last year. Even a small change in rates can make a difference in affordability. And better affordability should bring more sidelined buyers into the market.
