I think about the next generation a lot, because I know one day I won’t be here but my children will, and our children will be handed off leadership for the next. 🔁
I’ve cried a lot thinking about this entire week. News stories of shootings in schools, Charlie’s life taken (and his little family), a Ukrainian woman’s life taken while going home from work, and continued war. 💔
I think a lot of people are being pushed into different “groups” right now based on how they grieve, what they speak about, how they talk, if they don’t, etc. Violence is a weapon the enemy uses to steal, kill, and destroy, and the fall out can be division if we allow it. 🥲
I’m so so glad the Lord looks at the heart. Whew, isn’t that relieving? That we don’t live for the opinions of others? The weight of human opinions can feel real heavy when you get your identity from them. You were made for more. You were actually made to live without any fear of man at all!
With the passing of a pretty bold voice this week, I’m inspired to keep speaking up even when I’m told to shrink back. In my case, the gospel is worth losing everything on earth for. It’s the hope for our world, Jesus is the hope of this world and I’ll forever share that! Not from a place of obligation, but of love.
Because loving others that agree with you is pretty easy, but Jesus loved those that spit in His face and called Him a fraud. He saw past all their pain and misunderstanding, and that’s truly unconditional love. 😭
The next generation depends on us staying unified in that mission. 💛🙏🏻
