Where is Yuki? Wow, it's been a while hasn't it? Sorry about that - earning an MBA, nearly dying (and still recovering), then a stupid pandemic caused some delays in story authoring. Apologies!! However, I'm still alive, relatively unscathed, though scarred and I'm excited to visit new places and write some articles! One of my favorite places of all is Yuki Japanese Restaurant....

Once again I’ll be intriguing you with an interesting place with some kind of special significance to me. This one should be a little easier than some of the past articles on this topic. Just as a brief recap, this series has had two parts already: one that I thought would be particularly difficult to find and or recognize and the other that was a pretty easy giveaway. I never really expected there to be an amazing barbecue restaurant in Newberg Oregon. However as it turns out there are - so far, two that I have discovered. The first as you may recall is the amazing Storr’s Smokehouse. The other fantastic barbecue restaurant in Newburg is one that I discovered quite by accident while driving through town looking at homes for sale. [ 730 more words ]

Someone mentioned Gem when I was dining at Barrel 47 in Carlton - “Unforgettable Cajun food” and “Amazing” were what I remember during the conversation, so I’ve been looking for a good reason to visit since then. Now, as some of you may already know McMinnville isn’t my favorite place, and it is more or less the last place I want to ever be, however, I figure the sacrifice may one worth it if the cuisine is as good as I’d been led to believe. A Chicago playwright uses self-hypnosis to travel back in time and meet the actress whose vintage portrait hangs in a grand hotel… If you saw the movie "Somewhere in Time" in 1980, with actor Christopher Reeves, you probably wonder where that door through time might actually be. Well it turns out that the Soreng theater in the Hult Center in Eugene is one of those quiet doors. [ 405 more words ]

I drove by Telvet Coffee a couple of weeks ago while I was out and about. I always like to try new spots and when I saw the grand opening sign outside Telvet’s I was pretty intrigued. Its a beautiful Victorian-style building and is just gorgeous from the outside. How do I find Telvet Coffee? Telvet Coffee is located in Forest Grove between Nineteenth and Pacific avenues on the west side of the street. [ 778 more words ]
