The investigation is still ongoing into a shooting incident that occurred yesterday on Lackawanna Avenue in the Village of Sloan.

The shooting is believed to have stemmed from a confrontation between two adults. The only person who was struck by gunfire is a two-year-old who remains at Children’s Hospital in stable condition. Shannon Rose, 19, of Buffalo, was apprehended immediately at the scene of the shooting and Rose is charged with Assualt in the second degree and Criminal Possession of a Firearm. Rose is believed to have been the only person who fired a gun during this incident.

The charges were brought after careful consideration and consultation with the Cheektowaga Police Department’s partners at the District Attorney’s Office. Rose was charged and held to see the judge for arraignment.

The other person who is believed to be involved in the confrontation is Marcus Oluwa Jr., 20, of Lackawanna, who was located uninjured with the assistance of the Buffalo Police Department and New York State Police.

Oluwa was found in the City of Buffalo, where he was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree.
