Jamesgate Press joins with all of you this Memorial Day in remembering those who died while serving our country.
“Brave and Immortal Dead -
“In the ancient years the King of Lydia, Krisus, asked Salon the Athenian if he knew a happy man. Salon answered that he knew Tellus the Athenian, who fell fighting heroically for his country and was buried with great ceremony.
“But you, Immortal Dead, are happier than Tellus the Athenian because you fell on these mountains fighting not only for your country, but for the liberation of our country, Greece, and the Universal Liberty. Alive you came here to our country. Now we say farewell to you, to your new home. Slaves, under the worst slavery, we received you. Now we are free and say goodbye to you from our Land.
“All the Greek people together with us, with tears in their eyes, accompany you to your glorious country, our Friend and Ally and Sister Nation, the United States,
“God bless your souls, you brave and immortal dead.”
