This is why everyone, especially Black people, who are claiming Trump's anti-immigration warpath isn't our fight, is failing to see the forest for the trees.

Sean “Diddy” Combs was found guilty Tuesday on two federal charges related to the transportation of women across state lines for illegal s*xual activity, marking a partial conviction in the high-profile case that has captivated the entertainment industry.

A federal jury in New York delivered a mixed verdict after more than 14 hours of deliberations, convicting Combs on Count 3 and Count 5, both violations of the Mann Act. He was found guilty of transporting Casandra Ventura and a former girlfriend identified only as Jane across state lines for illicit purposes. Combs faced five criminal counts: one count of racketeering conspiracy; two counts of s*x trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

Happy Juneteenth!

***

Today, we commemorate June 19, 1865, when Major General Gordon Granger issued General Order No. 3 in Galveston, Texas, finally freeing enslaved people in the state. Although slavery persisted in other parts of the country at that time, this pivotal moment marked a significant step toward liberation.

Let’s also celebrate the Juneteenth flag, designed by Ben Haith, symbolizing freedom and unity. The colors hold deep meaning:

✊🏾 Red represents the bloodshed and struggle
❤️ Blue represents freedom and the spirit of the community
⭐️ White represents hope and unity

All month long, - KYIZ and KRIZ the have been celebrating Juneteenth with powerful interviews and coverage of community events. Tune in to our radio stations to hear from history makers and community leaders!

As we celebrate, let’s honor our ancestors, educate ourselves and others, and advocate for equality. Let’s work together toward a brighter future, where freedom and justice are truly for all.

✊🏾❤️
