Every year on Black Friday, we go hunting for our Christmas tree… but this year, the search started off rough. Half-dead trees, prices that didn’t make sense, and nothing that felt special. 🎄😕

Then we pulled into Rahn Farms — and everything shifted.
There’s just something different about a place run with genuine heart. Kelly and her family welcomed us like we’d been coming there for years, and the whole farm had that warm, old-fashioned Christmas feeling you can’t fake. ✨

Their trees were beautiful — choose-and-cut Murray Cypress and Carolina Sapphire, plus full, fresh pre-cut Fraser Firs. It was the first place all day where we didn’t have to “settle.” We actually got excited again.

We left with the perfect tree and the sweetest experience… the kind that makes you slow down and appreciate the moment. ❤️🌲

Rahn Farms truly saved the day, and we’ll absolutely be back next year.

Wait for the After…

Our ‘Believe’ sign was looking a lot more orange and a little less red… so she got a makeover today. Glitter and a clear coat will have to wait until later because the gnats were making a whole meal out of me! 😂

It reminded me how the smallest changes can make the biggest difference — in our homes, our projects, and honestly, in our lives. A simple refresh, a new coat of paint… it really can change everything.

Sometimes all it takes is a new layer or a fresh start for things to look completely different!

You should change the battery in your smoke detector at least once a year, and fall/winter is a perfect time to put it on your calendar. Some experts even recommend doing it twice a year, even if your detector isn’t chirping — because let’s be real, nothing’s worse than that 3 a.m. wake-up call!

Did you know smoke detectors also have a shelf life? Most last about 10 years.

If your home is 10 years or older, replacing your smoke detectors is an inexpensive maintenance step—and one that’s worth handling before listing your home.

Most buyers start looking about 3 months before they want to make a move — but it’s not a hard and fast rule.

Depending on your financing and the type of home you’re after, you can sometimes close sooner. But if you’re considering new construction or a custom build, you may be looking at 6–12 months from the time you identify the right home.
