I’m a wife, mama, and homesteader learning as I go—growing food, raising animals, and making the most of what we have. I believe in hard work, home-cooked meals, and slowing down to enjoy the little things. Sharing our journey so others know they can do it too. ❤️

Skip the store-bought jars. 🫑

These homemade pickled banana peppers are tangy, and ridiculously easy to make. If your garden is overflowing, this is one recipe you'll want to save for later.

Have you ever made your own banana peppers, or have you always bought them from the store?

I can’t believe what I found after a week.

It’s been exactly one week since I put them out and I counted 53 FRUITFLIES 😳

I’m ordering more 😅

giving our best boy a spa treatment ❤️

He LOVES a water hose. Got him all squeaky clean just for him to find a big pile of dirt to roll in 🫠

I have had this handsome steed since I was 10-11 years old (pretty much most of my life) I barely remember life without him. He’s taught me a lot over the years and I honestly don’t know what I’ll ever do without him. He is my HEART horse. I’m so grateful that my girls get to experience life with him. He is ONE OF A KIND. ❤️

I don’t want to just share the beautiful harvest. I need to also be transparent about the struggles I have had this week on our homestead.

Some seasons of homesteading feel like one step forward and ten steps back.

First, some of my tomato plants started wilting for no apparent reason. Then the cows got out and wiped out most of our corn. Something has been helping itself to my cucumbers and potatoes. And now I have an egg thief on the property—with two chickens missing this week and turkey eggs disappearing too.

You often see the harvests and the pretty moments, but this is the reality too. Nature doesn't always cooperate. Animals don't always stay where they're supposed to. Sometimes it feels like everything is working against you.

But tomorrow we'll fix fences, replant what we can, and keep moving forward. That's homesteading. Not perfection—just persistence.

Share your struggles with me 👉🏼

How we meal plan on our homestead during the spring & summer 🏡

Instead of planning meals first and shopping second, we look at what's ready in the garden and build meals around that harvest.

This week it's squash... and LOTS of it. 😂
