This 4th of July, I’m not throwing away my shot. 🇺🇸

I won’t sit back and watch this administration try to tear apart what so many before me fought for. I’m fighting - for my family, my neighbors, my students, and everyone who deserves better. I believe in this country

Building strong relationships with students is essential, but connection alone isn’t a magic wand.

Real change happens when we blend trust, clear expectations, and evidence-based supports.

Let’s normalize having a full toolbox, because our kids deserve connection and structure.

We can’t teach kids who are living in fear.
We can’t ignore the trauma caused by policies that target the very families we serve.
I stand with my immigrant students and their communities, because safety, dignity, and humanity should never be up for debate. 💙

Summer break can be exciting, but for some kids, it’s also really hard. 💛
The sudden shift in routine, the loss of school structure, and the lack of predictability can feel overwhelming. And the truth is: many of our kids don’t know how to say it, so it shows up in behavior instead.

This is your reminder: dysregulation isn't defiance. Let’s support students with compassion, not consequences.

Spotted this mural today in San Diego while getting my passport and it gave me all the feels.

Inclusion isn’t just about kindness or relationships (though those matter). It’s about action. Support. Intentional space-making. Real access. This is what we fight for every day—for our students, our kids, and our classrooms.
