Willa, along with her team Firestarter Intearctive, works with a wide range of clients and industries, from tech to adventure travel, education to nonprofits. She has traveled the world from Colombia to Ethiopia interviewing scientists and CEOs, college students and salty fishermen. A fast learner and comfortable in many worlds, Willa is expert not only in knowing the questions to ask to clarify and distill messaging, but has a unique sensibility for the underlying emotion of stories, for capturing the beyond-a-bullet-point “heart” element that imbues stories with meaning and compels viewers to care. A graduate of Middlebury College, Willa studied the craft of narrative storytelling at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, interned in public radio, and launched her storytelling agency in 2009.

Most people give away their most powerful hours before they've even had a chance to claim them.

My calendar is intentionally blocked until 11, sometimes 11:30, no calls, no external demands, nothing. Because the moment I let other people's energy into my field before I've worked through my own priorities, the whole day scrambles.

Reactive leaders can't lead at their highest level. Protect the morning and you protect your power.

Getting back to yourself doesn't have to be a long, painful excavation. Sometimes it's simply a decision.

I explained something I believe completely. We overcomplicate the inner work, building it up in our minds as this grueling, drawn-out process. But alignment is often closer than we think.

Alignment is the foundation for everything. The moment you reconnect with it, what felt impossibly hard starts to feel clear, natural, and within reach.

Nothing you've walked through was a failure. It was a rehearsal and the performance keeps getting stronger.

Demet Tuncer says it simply: you can't become a great cook the first time you cook. You have to burn a lot of cakes. Charisma works the same way. You have to stay in the incubator, treat every moment as a rehearsal space, and keep showing up, knowing the practice is the point.
