For millions of people across the South East, this is not a hypothetical scenario—it is a daily, dangerous reality.
Nigeria actually has brilliant, trained paramedics (shoutout to institutions like UBTH leading the way), but our pre-hospital emergency system is heavily fragmented. If the South East Governors Forum collectively steps up to adopt a regulated, US-style Emergency Medical Services (EMS) network, it would completely transform our region.
Here is exactly how a standardized paramedic system would change lives in the South East:

Immediate stabilization can cut trauma mortality by up to 50%, ensuring victims survive the long journey to regional tertiary centers like UNTH in Enugu or NAUTH in Nnewi.
