This weekend, these paths, parks, and riverfront spaces will come alive for Watershed Weekend. A celebration of the progress, people, and places that make Toledo’s riverfront special.

🚢 Welcome back to the Glass City, Victory Cruise Lines! ⚓

Today, Victory 1 made its return voyage up the Maumee River and into City of Toledo, bringing visitors from across North America to experience everything our city has to offer. One year after helping reintroduce cruise tourism to Toledo, the vessel is back for another stop along its Great Lakes journey.

Watching a cruise ship navigate the winding Maumee River and pass beneath Toledo's iconic bridges is a sight that never gets old. From the downtown skyline to our waterfront attractions, these visits showcase Toledo as a unique destination on the Great Lakes cruising map.

The Victory I is a 286-foot cruise ship carrying up to 190 guests as it explores ports throughout the Great Lakes region, giving travelers a chance to discover communities like Toledo from a whole new perspective.

We’re excited to partner with Party in the Park Toledo once again this year, capturing all the energy, excitement, and summer fun from above while 424 Degrees brings the action to life on the ground.

There’s nothing better than showcasing our community from every angle. Here's to another incredible season of music, memories, and great events. Summer is officially here!

Party in the Park Toledo isn't just a great time, it's an economic engine for downtown Toledo.

In 2025, the summer concert series at Promenade Park drew more than 55,000 attendees over the course of the season, generated an estimated $1.5 million in economic impact, and consistently drove measurable increases in downtown restaurant and bar sales on event nights.

Thousands of those visitors came from outside Lucas County, choosing downtown Toledo as their Friday night destination all summer long.

That's what free, community-first programming does. It fills seats, fills barstools, and puts money back into the businesses and neighborhoods that make this city worth showing up for.

The 2026 season kicks off this Friday, May 29 at Promenade Park. Every Friday night through August, 6–9:30pm. Free to attend. downtowntoledo.org/events/party-in-the-park

One of the coolest things about the future of Metroparks Toledo is how much of the community is being built directly into it.

Coming to the International Cove area of Glass City Metropark is a new 15-foot illuminated sculpture called “Starburst” by artist Blessing Hancock and the best part? The words cut into the sculpture came from the people of Toledo.

The sculpture being installed by Kokosing is designed to celebrate the many cultures, languages, and communities that helped shape Toledo, with words like “Community,” “Unity,” “Love,” and “Resilient” repeated throughout the artwork in 18 different languages.

Public art like this is what makes the Glass City Riverwalk project so special. It’s not just creating parks it’s creating places that tell Toledo’s story. Can’t wait to see “Starburst” lit up along the riverfront in 2026. ✨
