Honoring the unforgettable legacy of Quincy Jones. 💔 Today, we mourn the passing of a music legend whose influence on the industry is unparalleled. With a career spanning over seven decades, Quincy was not only a groundbreaking producer, composer, and arranger but also a true visionary who paved the way for countless artists. His work catapulted careers and inspired generations, from his iconic productions with Michael Jackson to his indelible contributions to jazz, R&B, pop, and film scoring.

Beyond his genius in music, Quincy was a deeply compassionate philanthropist. He was a contributor and supporter of Rukus Avenue’s and the United Nations “Music to Inspire” album, lending his voice and passion to the global fight against human trafficking. He changed the music world in so many ways, yet his commitment to making a difference extended beyond his art.

Quincy’s legacy of innovation, humanity, and resilience will continue to inspire and move us. His music lives on, forever a reminder of his spirit and his extraordinary contribution to this world. Thank you, Quincy, for all you gave. You will be missed, but never forgotten.

The legacy of lives on. We at Rukus Avenue are thrilled for the upcoming release of the “Chain of Light”. The Chain of Light was a ‘lost album’ by the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan & Party that will be releasing on Sept 20th. will have the honor to share and play the record exclusively on his show The Bridge from September 16th onwards. We thank Real World Records for making the album available to Rukus Avenue Radio prior to its worldwide release. 🙏🏼

Joined by his eight-strong party of singers and musicians, Chain of Light presents four traditional qawwals — including one which has never been heard before — and captures Khan at the height of his vocal capabilities in pristine sonic quality. The recording was made at in April 1990, during the same time he worked on Mustt Mustt, his seminal crossover album with Canadian producer Michael Brook.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, also known as the King of Qawwali, is considered to be the most important Qawwal in history. He is an icon who put Qawwali on the World Music map and many consider to be one of the greatest singers of all time. He possessed a tremendous vocal range and could perform at a high level of intensity for several hours.

Real World Records is a British record label specializing in world music and was founded in 1989 by WOMAD and Peter Gabriel to provide talented artists from around the world with top- notch recording facilities and audiences beyond their geographic region. The music label is known for bringing together musicians from all over the world who share a common interest in music in general.
