Jacob’s Type 1 Diabetes Journey

Jacob’s Type 1 Diabetes Journey I'm Jacob. 25 years old. Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on February 19, 2026 and I'm documenting everything.

βETA PRESERVE clinical trial

Not medical advice.

Just my story. 🩸

Forgot to take my basal insulin last night.

Not recommending that obviously—it was completely accidental—but I was honestly surprised by how my blood sugar responded today.

Dermatologist update from today.

They removed one mole from my neck and sent it off to be checked. Another one they’re just going to monitor for now. They also said it looks like I’m starting to develop psoriasis in my ears and called in some drops for it.

It’s funny how much life can change in a few months. Before my Type 1 diagnosis I felt like I hardly ever went to the doctor. Now it feels like I’m constantly learning something new about my health.

Just documenting the journey as it comes.

Got cut on the fence while working in the garden today.

Crazy thing is, before getting diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes I honestly wouldn’t have thought twice about something like this. But after diagnosis, clinical trial infusions, all the blood work and monitoring, and hearing doctors constantly talk about infections and healing, it definitely changes the way you think about little things.

Still adjusting mentally to this whole diagnosis honestly.

Thought I was just going to work on fence in the pasture today… then my blood sugar dropped 😅📉

Still learning how much heat, activity, and working outside can affect things with Type 1 diabetes. My wife had to bring snacks out to me while I waited for it to come back up 😂

Still trying to figure out what my body can handle lately.

Captain Anderson’s result 👀

Beach food + Type 1 diabetes is always a gamble 😂

Still documenting everything in real time.

When the CGM alarms hit for the 100th time at 3am 😭😂

It’s Clinical Trials Day so I figured I’d show y’all how to find and join a clinical trial coming from someone currently in a clinical trial.

A couple months ago I didn’t even know this world existed. Hopefully this helps somebody else looking into their options.
