The Case of the Missing Variable”
In the quiet town of Algebraville, something strange had happened — the variable x had vanished from every equation.
Mr. Pythagoras, the town’s top detective (and triangle enthusiast), was on the case.
“Have you seen x?” he asked Ms. Graphia, who ran the function café.
“I lost x years ago,” she sighed. “Still haven’t found it.”
He questioned suspects: a suspicious-looking negative sign, a shady radical, and even the ever-mysterious imaginary number i, who just laughed, “You can’t prove I’m real.”
Finally, he found x hiding under a radical sign, saying, “I just needed a break. Everyone’s always trying to solve me!”
Pythagoras nodded. “Understandable. But the equations are falling apart without you.”
x sighed. “Okay, I’ll come back… but only if people stop dividing by zero.”
The town cheered, and balance was restored — at least until y decided it needed to find itself.
