Quick tip: turn your VPN on before you join public Wi-Fi, not after.

If you connect first and switch the VPN on second, there's a small window where your traffic is exposed on an unsecured network. It only takes a few seconds for that gap to matter.

Make it a habit: VPN on, then connect.

More setup tips (kill switches, choosing a provider, testing your connection) in the full guide, link in bio.

True or false: a VPN makes you completely anonymous online.

False, and it's the most common misunderstanding we see. A VPN hides your IP address and encrypts your traffic, but it doesn't erase cookies, account logins, or browser fingerprinting. Websites and apps can still recognize you through those.

Guess before you scroll the comments, then check the full guide (link in bio) for what a VPN can and can't do.

VPN decoded without the sales pitch.

Swipe through for what a VPN actually does, the myths worth dropping, and where it genuinely earns a place in your privacy routine.

Ever used the Wi-Fi at a coffee shop, airport, or hotel without thinking twice? Most of us have, and most of that Wi-Fi is unsecured, meaning anyone else on the same network could potentially see what you're doing.

That's the real, practical reason people use a VPN. Not to "go anonymous" (it can't do that), but to encrypt your connection so a stranger on the same network can't casually snoop on your banking session or your messages.

We just published a beginner's guide covering what a VPN really does, the myths worth ignoring, and how to pick one that isn't secretly selling your data (a lot of free ones do this).

Right now, this is one of the biggest questions state legislatures are actually deciding.

Some states are creating a separate electricity rate class for data centers, so companies cover the true cost of the power they use instead of it being passed on to you on your monthly bill.

Where do you land on this? Drop a comment, we read every one.

Full breakdown of the data center policy fight in this week's article (link in bio).

Ever wonder why "data center" keeps showing up in the news lately, usually next to words like blackout or moratorium?

Here's the short version: AI data centers use way more electricity and water than the older kind, and states are scrambling to write rules to manage the fallout. Over 300 bills were filed in 30+ states in just the first weeks of 2026.

We broke it all down in plain English, no spin, both sides of the argument, so you can actually follow what's happening in your own state.

Read it here:
