FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEWyandot Chamber Takes Action to Support Local Businesses During Water Crisis
Upper Sandusky, OH – May 16, 2025 — As Upper Sandusky continues to face ongoing water quality issues, the Wyandot Chamber of Commerce is stepping up to provide real, practical support to local businesses impacted by the crisis.
In a proactive move, the Chamber has officially partnered with Hempy Water to offer free water analysis and assessment of equipment and discounted services thereafter, tailored to the unique needs of businesses dealing with the current water situation. Through this partnership, Chamber members will have access to both large- and small-scale water filtration system options to help ensure water used in food preparation or daily operations meets a higher quality standard.
In addition, Hempy Water will provide water delivery at discounted rates for businesses who need a more immediate solution for cooking, drinking, or general use. This offering is especially beneficial for those who have been regularly transporting water themselves—saving valuable time and effort.
“This isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution,” said Brittney Walton, Executive Director of the Wyandot Chamber. “It’s about giving our businesses options based on their greatest need—whether that’s improving in-house water quality or ensuring access to clean water in the short term. While these services aren’t all free, they are meaningful, cost-reduced solutions we’ve worked hard to coordinate on behalf of our members.”
Beyond these services, the Chamber is actively exploring grant opportunities and financial assistance programs to help provide additional relief for businesses experiencing hardship due to the water issues. These efforts are ongoing as the Wyandot Chamber continues advocating for the small businesses that serve as the backbone of the local economy.
The Wyandot Chamber encourages affected business owners to reach out directly for more information and support. Updates will be shared regularly through official Chamber channels as solutions continue to evolve.

Clarification from the Chamber:
We want to take a moment to acknowledge that while the Chamber’s primary role is to advocate for our local businesses, we also deeply care about our residents and community as a whole. Our recent efforts with Hempy Water have been focused on helping businesses remain operational during the ongoing water issues—something that benefits the entire local economy.
We absolutely recognize how this issue affects every household in Upper Sandusky. While our first steps have been directed at supporting the business community, we are actively looking for ways to collaborate or assist in broader solutions that benefit all residents.
Thank you for your patience, and please know your voices matter to us.
