When the Spring semester began, 10 students came together in our Publication Development and Production in Agriculture course (AGCM 327) to create the 2023 edition of The Morrow, a magazine all about agricultural leadership, education and communications at . Rallying around the theme "By students, for students," they went on to grow the publication to 36 pages (from its inaugural 24-page issue last year), write features about recent grads and current students, design pages and ads and introduce several new elements such as an interactive page and an advice column. The cover story highlights why intercollegiate athletes and others are joining Team ALEC for leadership, education and communications courses. Great work Emily Bruch, Olivia Charles, Erica Corzine, Elizabeth Dattner, Sydney Friedman, Erica Johnson (Editor-in-Chief), Rachel McGreal, Taylor Talbert, Claire Tester and Erin Wunderlich!

On February 2nd, we were joined by Troy Courson, Image Graphics Enterprises Inc. and Jerrica Hood, College of ACES Marketing Associate.

They joined us to hear our ideas about what we were planning for The Morrow this year and in the future. Both Troy and Jerrica were able to provide feedback and grow upon our ideas.

As we begin putting the final touches on all of the stories, features, and profiles we have for this year's edition of The Morrow, we wanted to take the time and thank individuals who helped us through this semester.

On Tuesday, March 7th, Melissa Waller came and presented to our team. She is the Director of Web Development within the College of ACES. In her presentation Waller discussed the importance of digital and print accessibility. This takes form in color selection, captions, and even reading level.

Dr. Owen Roberts welcomed UIUC alum and design consultant, Troy Courson, to discuss future publication materials for The Morrow, a student-produced magazine. Courson assisted with the magazine's first production last year and gave some insight on how to better the design this year.

Welcome to the The Morrow! This year we are a group of 10 individuals putting together an Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communicaitons magazine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
